Your Expertise Can Help Build What Comes Next

NMVMA is building a network of subject matter experts to support new learning initiatives with NMSU Global and Project ECHO.

New Mexico veterinary professionals have asked for education that is practical, accessible, and connected to the realities of their work. Subject matter experts can help NMVMA develop that education with the depth, accuracy, and real-world perspective it requires.

We are seeking veterinarians, veterinary technicians, practice managers, educators, researchers, public-health professionals, regulatory experts, industry partners, and other professionals with knowledge to share.

Relevant expertise may include clinical medicine, livestock and rural practice, public health, emerging diseases, disaster preparedness, technician utilization, practice management, workforce development, communication, leadership, wellbeing, and other subjects that strengthen veterinary teams.

How Subject Matter Experts May Contribute

Depending on the initiative, subject matter experts may be invited to:

  • Advise NMVMA on educational topics and learning priorities.
  • Review educational materials for accuracy and relevance.
  • Help develop short courses or microlearning content.
  • Present, teach, or participate in a panel.
  • Contribute to a Project ECHO session.
  • Facilitate or participate in a case-based discussion.
  • Share practical examples, resources, or professional experience.

Moving Knowledge, Not People

Project ECHO creates virtual learning communities in which specialists and practicing professionals learn from one another. Its collaborative model is built around a simple principle: “All Teach, All Learn.”

Experts bring specialized knowledge, while participants contribute local experience, practical questions, and insight into the realities of veterinary work across New Mexico.

NMVMA’s initiatives with NMSU Global will create additional opportunities to develop flexible educational resources that veterinary professionals can use wherever they live and work.

Raise Your Hand

Completing the Subject Matter Expert Interest Form is not a commitment. It simply helps NMVMA understand your expertise, interests, and availability.

NMVMA will contact you when a teaching, advising, reviewing, or collaborative learning opportunity appears to be a good match.

Your knowledge can help another veterinary professional solve a problem, build confidence, or deliver better care.

Help NMVMA build practical learning for veterinary teams.
