NMVMA Member Engagement

Your time. Your voice.
A stronger community.

Whether you have ten minutes or the capacity to lead, choose a contribution that fits your interests and availability.

Interest is welcome year-round. Specific roles depend on current needs, timing, qualifications, and fit.

Choose the level that fits

Start where you are.

A quick contribution, a defined project, steady participation, or formal leadership can all be useful.

Thank you, volunteers

The work moves because people share what they can.

NMVMA volunteers bring clinical knowledge, community relationships, leadership, questions, ideas, and practical follow-through. Every contribution should have a clear purpose and a respectful scope.

One contribution can be enough. Participate again when the time and fit are right.

Community participation

Not a member? There is a place for you, too.

Animal owners, community partners, and supporters can stay informed and help NMVMA recognize the people behind veterinary care.

Join the public community

Receive animal-care resources, legislative updates, and invitations to future public activities.

Celebrate a veterinary team

Recognize a team whose compassion, skill, service, or community impact deserves attention.

Know what to expect

Interest starts a conversation—not an automatic assignment.

NMVMA will consider the current need, your interests and availability, timing, role expectations, qualifications, and any relevant conflicts.

Do I need a lot of time to participate?

No. Options range from brief contributions to defined projects, ongoing participation, or formal leadership.

Are volunteer applications only accepted once a year?

No. Interest is welcome year-round. Follow-up depends on current needs, timing, requirements, and fit.

Does completing a form commit me to serve?

No. An interest form begins a conversation before you accept a specific assignment or responsibility.

Do I need to be an NMVMA member?

Formal volunteer roles and member-only networks are for current members. Public opportunities are identified separately.

Can I talk with someone before choosing?

Yes. Schedule a conversation with Kelli.

One useful next step

One meaningful contribution can be enough.

Offer the time, knowledge, relationships, or perspective you have now. NMVMA can help you find a practical fit.
