Hands-On Learning & Professional Skills
Veterinary professionals across the Southwest are gearing up for an incredible learning experience at the Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS), Sept. 25–28, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX. SWVS offers over 400 hours of continuing education across 13 specialized tracks, with expert speakers and small session sizes designed to keep things engaging and hands-on. Attendees can dive deep into topics ranging from advanced diagnostics and surgery to behavioral health. Whether you’re brushing up on emergency medicine or exploring the latest feline dentistry techniques, the breadth of CE at SWVS ensures every member of your veterinary team will find valuable sessions to grow their expertise.

Notably, SWVS is packed with practical, hands-on courses and workshops. For example, attendees can enroll in the Veterinary CPR Certification (RECOVER) course, a two-day life-support certification offered Thursday and Friday. There are also focused workshops like “Foundations of Abdominal Ultrasound” and a “Feline Dentistry Masterclass,” which provide in-depth, practical training. These immersive sessions let you practice new skills under expert guidance – a great way to boost confidence in real-world case work. Throughout the conference you’ll also find poster sessions and roundtables where veterinarians share case studies and protocols.
Exhibitor Hall & Networking Opportunities
SWVS’s exhibitor hall is a highlight, boasting 250+ industry booths. This easy-to-navigate hall is alive with the latest veterinary innovations – from diagnostic imaging and surgical equipment to the newest pharmaceuticals and telehealth tools. You’ll have ample opportunity to chat one-on-one with company reps, collect samples, and see live product demos. Don’t miss the on-floor events like prize drawings and the “Sip-n-Shop” reception on Friday evening. These casual gatherings and our signature “Show Your School Colors” day create fun chances to network with colleagues from across the region. SWVS’s blend of Southern hospitality and focused networking means you’ll leave with new professional connections and ideas to take home.
Group Discount & Member Events
We encourage veterinary teams – veterinarians, vet techs, practice managers, and students – to attend together, if possible. Bringing your whole team maximizes CE learning and makes travel more economical. Plus, connecting as a New Mexico delegation adds to the fun: watch for NMVMA-sponsored events at SWVS, including New Mexico meet-ups and networking events, to connect with peers from around the state. These member-focused gatherings are a great chance to reunite with friends you haven’t seen since our last NMVMA event. Teams of four or more will receive a 20% discount on each registration.
