Each and every veterinarian deserves a fulfilling career

Our purpose is to promote veterinary medicine and quality animal care through communication, fellowship, and the professional growth of New Mexico veterinarians.

Our Mission

The New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association (NMVMA) is the trusted voice of veterinary medicine in our state, dedicated to advancing the profession and ensuring exceptional care for animals.

Our mission is to promote veterinary medicine and high-quality animal care by fostering communication, professional growth, and a strong sense of fellowship among New Mexico veterinarians. We work tirelessly to enhance the human-animal bond, uphold ethical standards, and support lifelong learning for veterinary professionals.

NMVMA also advocates for responsible legislation and public safety, protects the rights of veterinarians, and invests in veterinary education for students from New Mexico. Through these efforts, we aim to elevate the image and values of veterinarians while serving the people and animals of our state with excellence and integrity.
